Navigating puberty can be challenging for any young person — and for female PDAers, the experience can involve unique social, emotional and sensory complexities. This two-part series blends lived experience, expert insights and compassionate guidance to help you understand, support and respond to these changes with confidence and care.
In Part 1, we explore the foundations of female puberty in the context of PDA, including bodily changes, emotional shifts, sensory experience and how these intersect with demand avoidance and regulation.
Part 2 builds on this understanding with deeper insight into practical support: managing communication, reducing pressure, supporting identity and autonomy, and navigating relationships, expectations and wellbeing through adolescence and beyond.
Created by the PDA Society with contributions from people with lived experience and professionals in the field.
