Learn how to make the most of SENDIASS (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service) when supporting a PDAer in educational settings. This two-part series blends essential information, lived experience and practical tips to help you advocate effectively and navigate the systems around education, support and rights.

In Part 1, we focus on using SENDIASS at home and school: what the service offers, how it can support you in understanding processes, building confidence in meetings, and clarifying your child’s needs from a place of strength.

Part 2 explores what support SENDIASS can provide in more detail, including working with schools, understanding statutory rights and assessments, preparing for reviews, and practical ways to collaborate with professionals to make education more accessible for a PDAer.

Created by the PDA Society with contributions from people with lived experience and professionals in the field.
